CHSAF Kicks Off Fund Raising Concert: A September to Remember
20 July 2023. Manila, Philippines. The CHS Alumnae Foundation (CHSAF), in cooperation with Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation and Kyani Philippines, Inc., is inviting everyone to a once-in-a-lifetime evening of singing, dancing and reminiscing in a fund-raising concert entitled, A SEPTEMBER TO REMEMBER. The event showcases popular artists who are making a comeback in the concert scene. They will sing their OPM (Original Pilipino Music) hit songs and other tunes guaranteed to make everyone sing, stand on their feet and dance the night away.
Featured in the show are Philippine music icons Leah Navarro and former members of The Circus Band, Pat Castillo and The New Minstrels namely Louie Reyes who is visiting from the US, Ray-An Fuentes who is flying in from Canada, Ding Mercado and Chad Borja.
The concert will be held on September 10, 2023, Sunday, at 7:00 pm at the Mother Rose Auditorium of the Assumption College, San Lorenzo, Makati.
The net proceeds of the concert will fund the programs of CHSAF, namely 1) scholarships for underprivileged but deserving students to be enrolled at Holy Spirit Schools in Quezon City; Tarlac, Malolos, Bulacan; and Irosin, Sorsogon; 2) scholarships for select students from indigenous peoples (IP), specifically Mangyan and Aeta communities under the auspices of the Holy Spirit sisters; 3) a feeding program for malnourished children in partnership with the BES Friends Feeding Program founded by CHS alumna Ms. Nela Almario-Zeta at the Bagumbayan Elementary School; and, basic infrastructure support for select IP communities in Capas, Tarlac and in Oriental and Occidental, Mindoro.
CHSAF is an SEC-registered non-stock, non-profit foundation that aims to keep the legacy of the College of the Holy Spirit, Manila alive with its mission of unifying its alumni body through various social, educational and spiritual programs while strengthening the bonds of fellowship among its members. CHSAF promotes long-held Catholic values that are guided by the school motto, Truth in Love (Veritas in Caritate) unselfish devotion, honesty, and integrity for God’s greater glory. It embraces diversity in talents and resources from among the global community of CHS alumni and encourage inclusive participation.
One of the featured concert artists, Louie Reyes, is an alumna of CHS Manila. She is based in the US with her husband, Cesar de la Fuente who was among the original members of The New Minstrels band. Louie Reyes has been dubbed as the Diana Ross of the Philippines.
